SKILL2SUSTAIN study visit and Project management Meeting in Ljubljana

ETMI actively participated in the SKILL2SUSTAIN study visit and project management meeting hosted by University of Ljubljana Faculty of Civil and Geodetic Engineering from 10 to 13 February 2026. The four-day event brought together consortium partners to advance the implementation of digital and green transformation in higher education across the Western Balkans.
The first two days focused on the Project Management Meeting, where progress across key work packages was reviewed. Under WP2, discussions covered the state-of-the-art analysis of digital and green education, the presentation of needs assessment results, stakeholder requirements for green and digital skills, and the development of the Digital and Green Initiative for higher education in the region.
The study visit offered valuable insights into best practices at the University of Ljubljana, closely aligned with SKILL2SUSTAIN objectives. Participants explored the integration of green competencies into curricula, broader approaches to digital transformation beyond software training, and the application of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in education.
Through hands-on sessions and laboratory visits, participants connected digital and green approaches with practical course design, learning outcomes, assessment methods, and real-world applications. Demonstrations showcased tools and practices such as digital twins, environmental monitoring systems, geospatial technologies, BIM-based workflows, and examples from large-scale infrastructure projects. The final day included a structured “reality check,” addressing accreditation frameworks, staff capacity, technical constraints, and student readiness, ensuring that planned curricular innovations remain practical, scalable, and sustainable.
