The policy papers Plastic Pollution in the Ishëm and Vjosa River Basins are now available.

Developed under the RIVERCLEAN project, these publications present the findings from marine litter monitoring carried out in both river basins, identifying the main types of plastic pollution affecting coastal and riverine environments. Based on the monitoring evidence, the papers assess current waste management policies, highlight key implementation challenges, and provide practical, evidence-based recommendations to strengthen plastic waste prevention, improve collection and recycling systems, and support more effective environmental governance at both the local and national levels.

Cleaner rivers – Cleaner seas project is implemented by Milieukontakt Albania and Environmental and Territorial Management Institute funded by the European Union in Albania
