🌊♻️ As part of the “Marine Litter Prevention in Sazani and Kune–Vain Islands” project, a large-scale clean-up activity was organised in the 📍 Kune–Vain area on 📅 21 July 2026 with the enthusiastic participation of a group of Belgian scouts from Scouts 2eme Louvain. The project is supported by Beyond Plastic Med – BeMed and implemented by Milieukontakt Albania and the Environmental and Territorial Management Institute.
🧤 Working together across the coastal area, the participants collected and separated a significant amount of marine litter, contributing directly to the protection of this sensitive coastal and lagoon ecosystem.
⚖️ A total of 310 kg of waste was collected:
♻️ 193 kg of plastic waste
🗑️ 117 kg of other waste
Beyond the impressive amount of litter removed, the activity provided a valuable example of volunteer engagement, environmental responsibility and community-led action. It also highlighted the important role that young people can play in protecting marine and coastal ecosystems. 💙
Actions like this demonstrate how cooperation, commitment and collective effort can create a visible and positive impact on our environment.
