“Drini Recycle: Turning Plastic Waste Into Circular Economic Benefits’’

Let’s do it Peja and the Albanian organization, Institute for Environmental and Territorial Management, completed the activity “Drini Recycle: Turning Plastic Waste Into Circular Economic Benefits’’. This project contributed in raising the awareness of local communities and fostering local authorities to apply good governance principles and practices for environment protection.
During this activity, the dedicated work to Drini Day within the Peja and Kukës was presented. The participants had the opportunity to learn more from the short lecture, “Circular Economy”, were presented with survey findings and evaluations of citizens perception on plastic waste pollution in the Drini, publishing the documentary film containing community interviews, and the view of the Drini. In the end, the students from the high school of arts “Odhise Paskali” from Peja and gymnasium students of “Havzi Nela” from Kukës presented their artistic recycled work.
This project also included the nature lovers mountain cyclists which traveled along the road beside the Drini riverbed into Rugova Canyon. Leaflets with messages for the protection of the Drini were distributed on the border between Kosovo and Albania in the cars that were passing.
