On 16 July, the Environmental and Territorial Management Institute carried out another beach litter monitoring activity at Divjakë Beach (near Vau Bridge), in collaboration with the Bashkia Divjake, within the framework of the JOINABLE IPA ADRION project.

The monitoring was conducted along a 100-meter coastal stretch, following the beach litter monitoring protocol. During the activity, the team collected, sorted and recorded the litter found on site, contributing to a clearer understanding of the types and quantities of waste present in this important coastal and ecological area.

The results once again highlight the continued presence of waste along the coastline and the importance of regular monitoring to build a stronger evidence base for future environmental action.

Monitoring Results:

Total waste recorded: 10.93 kg

Plastic waste: 7.95 kg

Other waste: 2.98 kg

The data collected during this activity will be uploaded to the REMEDIES app, supporting more consistent reporting and contributing to broader efforts to better understand marine litter trends.

Each monitoring effort helps us track pollution patterns, strengthen local knowledge, and support more informed responses to protect our coastal ecosystems.
