About the JOINABLE Project
JOINABLE Project is funded by the European Union under the Programme INTERREG IPA ADRION, and implemented by Municipality of Punat, in partnership with Sensum ltd, Venice Lagoon Plastic Free, Agency for Innovation in the Agri-food and Fisheries sectors Marche Agricoltura Fisheries, Institute of Entrepreneurship Development, University of Montenegro, Faculty of maritime studies Kotor, University of Information Sciences and Technology St. Paul the Apostle, Ohrid, Municipality of Divjaka and Environmental and Territorial Management Institute.
This project aims to examine the current situation regarding plastic waste, including the regulatory frameworks, in each participating country. It will involve educating trainers on the use of digital tools and spectrometers, developing a methodology for cleaning and monitoring plastic waste, and creating a system that transforms plastic waste into new products. Additionally, the project will share knowledge with local and regional authorities and feed databases like EMODnet. Ultimately, the goal is to develop a comprehensive strategy for managing plastic waste in the ADRION region by fostering the development of the blue circular economy. This strategy will address the specific challenges and opportunities within the region, aiming to reduce the environmental impact of plastic waste while promoting sustainable economic growth through innovative recycling and waste management practices.
About the International Training
The selected trainers will attend a four-day event in Venice, where they’ll learn how to use digital tools to collect data on litter, organize clean-up events, and find ways to recycle or reuse the collected waste. These trainers will return to their towns ready to teach and lead others in similar activities. This effort aims to build a network of skilled people who can guide their communities in protecting the environment and supporting a blue circular economy, where waste becomes a useful resource.
