ETMI participated in the European Energy Communities Forum held in Riga, an important European gathering that brought together policymakers, civil society organizations, researchers, and other key stakeholders working to strengthen energy communities and accelerate the clean energy transition across Europe.

ETMI officially became a full member of REScoop further reinforcing its commitment to promoting citizen-led energy initiatives and strengthening community participation in the energy sector. This membership represents an important step in expanding our engagement within the broader European network of energy communities and creating new opportunities for cooperation, knowledge exchange, and joint initiatives.

During the event, ETMI actively contributed to discussions by presenting practical experiences and lessons learned from pilot initiatives focused on the establishment and development of Energy Communities in Albania. The presentation highlighted the main challenges encountered during implementation, including legal, institutional, financial, and awareness-related barriers, while also showcasing the progress achieved through local engagement and collaborative approaches.

The forum also provided an important platform for dialogue and exchange with international partners, experts, and European organizations regarding the future development of Energy Communities in Albania. Discussions focused on the need to improve the national legal and regulatory framework, enhance institutional support mechanisms, and create more enabling conditions for the establishment and long-term sustainability of Energy Communities. These exchanges contributed to identifying opportunities for future collaboration and aligning national efforts with broader European energy and climate objectives.
