🌊♻️ On 8 June, in celebration of World Oceans Day, a clean-up activity was organized on Sazani Island as part of the “Marine Litter Prevention in Sazani and Kune–Vain Islands” project, supported by Beyond Plastic Med – BeMed and implemented by Milieukontakt Albania and the Environmental and Territorial Management Institute.
The initiative, organized by ETMI and Milieukontakt Albania, brought together different actors including:

while some of them are implementing projects under the BeMed support, creating valuable synergies between ongoing marine litter prevention efforts. 🤝

Over 120 kg of waste was collected, contributing to the protection of Sazani Island and its surrounding marine and coastal environment.
This activity highlighted once again the importance of cooperation between institutions, civil society and local actors in protecting our seas from pollution. 💙
