💡 As part of the project “EnerPower: Promoting local initiatives to reduce energy poverty in vulnerable communities,” two significant community meetings were held in the municipalities of Memaliaj and Selenicë on October 29th and 30th, respectively.

🤝 The meetings brought together community representatives, local government officials, and other local stakeholders to discuss one of the most pressing challenges faced by families: 💡 energy poverty and its impact on daily life.

📊 During the meetings, key findings from a study on energy poverty in the municipalities of Selenicë and Memaliaj were presented. Discussions with participants focused on the specific needs, difficulties, and challenges that these communities face in this regard.

🏠 A primary issue highlighted during the discussions was the importance of building renovations as a key factor in alleviating energy poverty. Furthermore, the need for increased investment from the central government—specifically in housing and home renovation programs within these municipalities—was emphasized as a priority for addressing this phenomenon. 🌱 Dialogue with the community and collaboration with local stakeholders are important steps toward identifying concrete solutions and fostering local initiatives for a fairer and more sustainable energy future.💡

This activity is supported by #GreenAL, a project funded by the Swedish International Development  Cooperation Agency with funds from the Swedish Government and implemented by CoPlan, Institute for  Habitat Development in cooperation with VIS Albania and COSV Cooperazione per lo Sviluppo.
